PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

APPLYING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

The University of Arizona's Office of Admissions assists students in the process of applying to the university and directs prospective students toward key campus resources.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission requirements vary for incoming first year studentstransfer students, and returning students. Specific guidelines for admission to the University of Arizona are outlined through the Office of Admissions. Students must be aware, however, that many majors at the university have additional admission processes. Admission to the University does not guarantee admission to majors of interest. The Colleges of Architecture, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health require an additional admission process for all of their majors, either at the point of university admission or after completing a set of coursework at the university. The majors of Communication, Computer Science, Journalism, and Physiology also have separate admission processes. Students are highly encouraged to contact a major advisor in their programs of interest in order to learn about these major admission requirements prior to attending the university.

APPLICATIONS FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

New first-year students and transfer students may apply to the university either online or by downloading a printable copy of the application.Students who are applying for readmission must be sure to use the readmission application, which is only available in the downloadable version. All applicants are automatically considered for admission to the Honors College and for scholarship eligibility during the application review process.

DATES AND DEADLINES

Application deadlines differ according to transfer vs. first-year students standing, degree seeking vs. non-degree seeking status, international vs. domestic status, and academic standing for readmission applications. Students must be sure to adhere to all dates that apply to them. Applicants are highly encouraged not to wait until the last minute to submit their applications.

MY FUTURE WILDCAT

My Future Wildcat account  allows prospective students to customize their application experiences.Through this web portal, applicants can track their application status, connect with campus resources, and receive personalized information from the University and the Office of Admissions.

ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS

In addition to applying for admission to the university, prospective students must also apply for financial aid and on-campus housing, if these resources are desired. Prospective students may initiate the financial aid application process at any time by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must wait until they have been formally admitted to the university before applying for on-campus housing.

NEXT STEPS

The Next Steps page is a fantastic “one stop shop” for students to complete all of their post admission requirements. At nextsteps.arizona.edu students can complete tasks such as pay their enrollment deposit, sign up for campus housing in one of our residence halls, and sign up for their orientation where they register for classes, etc. The website is set up in a user friendly checklist format to ensure each item is completed before their semester begins.
